Literature Text

I would gather the stars,
Collecting them into shapes
And silhouettes.

We sat atop the rear deck,
Its grooves and familiar knots
I traced with idle fingers;

You courted the dusk-dimmed maples,
Songs we'd heard the radio play -

We rode with the windows down,
You with your feet on the dashboard -

I remembered you liked the open road
And I just liked the way your hair flirted
With a late October wind.
On a clear night, you can connect the stars in the shape of anything you can dream.

I could have sworn I'd never read this one, until I saw that I'd already faved it. Strange. But one way or the other, it is still amazing. Fantastically gorgeous. Did you want me to compile a list of my favorites (I hesitate to say "your best," because my opinion of your best and someone else's opinion of your best may not even match up to which are actually your best), or are little comments like this acceptable?
