Disneyland Pixie Dust Challenge
I am back from Disneyland! Feeling almost human again after a three hour nap following our overnight flight. That was pretty grueling - I had gotten a little sick over the weekend, and combining that with my ears not popping properly, I had a vertigo spell between connecting flights (luckily, I had brought some pills with me), but the landing on the second flight hit me again.
As far as the Pixie Dust Challenge goes, I finished with a time of 1:01:28 in the Saturday 10K and 2:29:23 in the Sunday half-marathon. If I had realized I was off an hour pace for the 10k I'd have picked it up a bit (they weren't showing clock splits for the different
Daily Deviation!
It was quite a surprise to sign in today and see my inbox flooded with so much wonderful sentiment! For all of you who stopped by because of my haiku featured in
- thank you! And for all of you who are just my regular watchers, thank you, of course, as always It's been quite some time since I looked over these haiku - but I still remember that little frog. I'm shocked at how well these have held up over time.

Half-Marathon, Wedding Update
Wow! It has been over a year since I updated this journal. Since that makes my journal sad, I am obliging it with a few tidbits of my life.

I'm training for a half-marathon in May. Well, more accurately, I am training for the back-to-back Saturday 10K + Sunday half-marathon event, dubbed the pixie dust challenge, in Disneyland in May. I've only run one 10k ever, back this past November to get a registered time in, so this will be a chal
November Tidings
Greetings to all visitors, whether ye be friend or stranger.
As I trade my Saturday afternoons on tennis courts for contemplative (and festive) strolls about town, bundled as warmly as possible, I am always reminded why the winter holiday season is one of my favorite times of year (in spite of the cold!). For all the stillness in the landscape, there just seems to be a little added excitement among the crowds. The skies grow darker, sooner, but more lit and decorated, too. It is a striking contrast that speaks to me of simple joys.
My fiancee and I recently visited a Renaissance Fair - my first ever experience. Much of the art and glasswork
